Metalsmithing has become a passion for me.

I can’t wait to learn something new every time I go to the bench. Most of what create is ‘One of a Kind’ since all the scrap metal from the previous piece is used to create the next. In a world trying to go ‘green’ this has been very liberating for me as well as cost saving. The technique I use to bond the metals is called fusion. The scraps are meticulously placed on a sheet of silver and heated with a torch till it is just about to melt. After it cools, I run it through a rolling mill. This process is repeated as many times as necessary to ensure that the metal pieces are bonded to the silver sheet. I work with copper and silver at this time, but I am looking forward to playing with gold in the future.
